Where every child feels truly known and safe.

Calm, beautifully designed spaces that inspire learning.

Working closely with families, every step of the way.

As a family-owned and operated boutique centre, our leadership team isn’t managing from a distance. We’re here, present, and personally invested in every child who walks through our door. We know our families by name, we notice the small things, and we make decisions based on what’s right for your child -not what’s convenient for a system.
With just 34 places, Stellar Nest is intentionally small -and that’s the whole point. Our educators have the time and space to truly know each child: their routines, their humour, their moments of hesitation before something brave. We adapt each day to suit the children in front of us, creating a calm, unhurried environment where children feel genuinely seen, deeply secure, and free to discover who they’re becoming. Through play-based, child-centred learning, we nurture Curiosity, support meaningful Growth, and build genuine Confidence -the kind that comes from truly belonging somewhere.
We see families as true partners. You’ll always know what’s happening in your child’s day, and you’ll always have someone real to talk to -because trust is something we earn every single day. Stellar Nest is for families who want something quieter, closer, and more considered -for parents who believe the how of early childhood matters just as much as the what.
Because here, every child isn’t just cared for. They’re known. And when children feel truly known, they SHINE. Our 34 places are held by families who feel exactly what you’re feeling right now -enquire early.
At Stellar Nest, our approach is guided by one enduring belief: every child deserves to feel like they truly belong, are deeply understood, and are given the freedom to shine.
Our five-pillar framework -the five spokes of our star -brings this philosophy to life. It draws on the world’s most respected early learning traditions: Australia’s Early Years Learning Framework, the Reggio Emilia approach from Italy, New Zealand’s Te Whāriki, and the Montessori and Bronfenbrenner principles that recognise the child within their whole community. Rather than following a single method, we have woven these frameworks with our own experiences and created something coherent, intentional, and entirely our own.
Together, the five pillars create an experience that simply isn’t possible elsewhere. Each one depends on the others and all of them depend on knowing every child well.
Before a child can explore, grow or discover -they need to feel that the people around them truly know them. Not just their name, but their rhythm, their humour, their hesitations, and their joys.
At Stellar Nest, we build that kind of knowing deliberately. Our educators form deep, consistent relationships with each child and family -relationships that develop over months and years, not days. Centre leadership isn’t at arm’s length; we are present in your child’s day, and in yours. When you have something on your mind, there is always a real person not a front desk, not a waiting list ready to listen.
With just 34 children across the whole centre, we operate at a scale most childcare services would consider too small to be viable. We consider it the only size that makes sense. At this scale, no child disappears. No family feels like a number. Every morning drop-off is a moment of genuine reconnection, not a transaction.
This is connection as Bronfenbrenner understood it: the child at the centre, held by people who care not just about them, but about each other. That web of relationships between child, educator, family and community is what makes everything else possible.
Growth at Stellar Nest means far more than school readiness. It means nurturing the whole child -their physical confidence, emotional intelligence, social skills, and emerging sense of self -with the same care and intention we bring to every cognitive milestone.
Inspired by Te Whāriki’s holistic vision of wellbeing, we design each day to support children across every dimension of development. A child learning to manage disappointment is growing. A child who chooses to try something difficult is growing. A child who comforts a friend is growing -perhaps more meaningfully than any academic achievement.
Our educators are trained to see these moments, name them, and build on them. Because the skills formed in these earliest years -resilience, empathy, self-regulation, curiosity are the ones that shape a person for life.
Discovery at Stellar Nest begins with radical respect for the child’s own curiosity. Drawn from the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe children express themselves and understand their world through many languages -through building, painting, movement, storytelling, music, and conversation. Our educators listen for these languages and follow where they lead.
Learning here is not delivered. It is uncovered -together. Educators observe closely, ask thoughtful questions, and create experiences that extend what children are already exploring. A fascination with puddles might lead to an investigation of water, weather, and reflection. A group building a block tower becomes an exploration of architecture, physics, and collaboration.
This is inquiry-led learning at its best: unhurried, child-driven, and deeply joyful. And because we are small, our educators actually have the time and attention to follow each thread.
Our environment is not a backdrop -it is an active educator. Every design decision at Stellar Nest has been made with intention: natural light that shifts through the day, calm finishes that don’t overwhelm, indoor–outdoor connections that blur the boundary between inside and nature, and spaces that invite children to choose their own experience.
This approach is rooted in the Montessori principle of the prepared environment -the idea that when a space is thoughtfully designed for children, it develops their independence, confidence, and sense of ownership. Children here don’t just occupy the space; they belong in it.
With only 34 places, our environment never feels crowded, rushed, or loud. There is room to focus, to retreat, to create, and to simply be. Families often tell us they feel it the moment they walk in -a quality of calm that is rare, and entirely intentional.
This is the environment your child deserves -and the one we have been deliberate in creating.
Partnership at Stellar Nest is built on a simple conviction: you know your child best, and we want to build on that knowledge -not replace it. Every family who joins us becomes a genuine collaborator in their child’s learning journey. Not a customer. Not a bystander. A partner.
This means open, honest communication that goes beyond a daily report. It means educators who remember what you shared on Monday and follow up on Friday. It means leadership that is genuinely accessible -because in a centre of 34, you will always know exactly who to talk to.
We also believe that partnership extends beyond the family. Drawing on Bronfenbrenner’s ecological framework, we see your child within a wider circle of community and belonging. The relationships children form here -with peers, educators, and families -become part of their story. And we take that responsibility seriously.
